The Mainland soccer premier league resumes today.
The14-team league has been in a break for two months since November after the end of the first phase.
According to fixtures released by the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), defending champions Simba will play African Lyon at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Simba who have been camping in Oman ahead of the league, lost 0-1 to Toto African in the last league match. The Msimbazi Street side were also beaten 1-0 by Black Leopards of South Africa in a build up game played on the same ground on Thursday.
African Lyon were also hammered 3-1 by Mtibwa Sugar in their last premier league match.
However, Simba hit Lyon 3-0 in the league’s opening match. Today’s game is expected to be full of fanfare, especially for Simba fans who want to see how their team perform after the Oman trip and how their newly-recruited coach Patrick Liewig will manage his first league match.
Lyon who put up a mediocre performance in the first round, will be eyeing to improve after recruiting players from league leaders Yanga.
Players who joined the team owned by Rahim Kangezi on loan from Yanga are Shamte Ally and Ibrahim Job.
Other matches in the menu today are Mtibwa Sugar will entertain the bottom-placed Polisi Morogoro at the Manungu Stadium of Turiani. Coastal Union will host Mgambo JKT at the Mkwakwani Stadium in Tanga.
Ruvu Shooting and JKT Ruvu will lock horns at Mabatini ground in Chalinze, Coast Region and second placed Azam FC welcome Kagera Sugar at the Chamazi Complex.Toto African will play away JKT Oljoro at the Sheikh Amri Abeid in Arusha
