After the end of the 14th round of the Mainland premier soccer league, Toto Africa, African Lyon and Police Morogoro are still maintaining relegation candidacy.

The trio failed to move out of the relegation borderline as a result of dismal performance save for bottom-placed Police Morogoro.

Both Toto Africa and African Lyon which were supposed to be familiar with the premiership turbulence lost by 3-1 goals as the second half of the season kicked off over the weekend.

Surprisingly the cops from Morogoro have rekindled hope of moving out of the relegation borderline following a stunning but deserving 1-0 goal victory over stalwarts Mtibwa Sugar.

The cops have so far collected seven points and four of them were contributed by the sugar processors and the balance courtesy of as many draws.

The relegation-haunted cops and African Lyon have a tricky fixture this weekend as they meet at the Jamhuri Stadium in Morogoro.

Toto Africa will be at the Azam Complex in Chamazi in a match they have to be cautious as the ice cream makers are in crusade to win the premiership title this season.

Of the three teams in the dreadful zone only Toto Africa can make a significant escape into the safe horizon. Toto have 12 points in hand and should they play well it is possible to move out of the relegation borderline which is separated by just a point from Tanzania Prisons who are gazing at it.

Besides the prison wardens, JKT Ruvu are not safe either as they have a slim cushion of two points away from the relegation line.

Like Toto JKT Ruvu have a tough league assignment as they face holders Simba at the National Stadium this weekend.

The holders who are second to stay five points adrift of pace makers Young Africans are in no mood to entertain defeat at this juncture having acquired a French coach,.

JKT Oljoro and Mgambo JKT are far from relegation worries having attained 17 points to open a five-point cushion from the relegation borderline.
