Fans await Cameroon

The first batch of the Cameroon players was expected to arrive in Dar es Salaam by yesterday night, so says the Tanzania Football Federation’s information officer, Boniface Wambura.

The number of players who were expected in yesterday’s trip was 13 excluding skipper Samuel Etoo.

The second batch is due to arrive this morning and would include Etoo on board.

Etoo who features for Russian top flight side of Anzhi Makhachkala will be on board the flight with Herve Tchami of Hungarian Budapest Honved, Olympic Marseille’s Nicolas Nkoulou, Paul Yontcha (SC Olhanense of Portugal and team physician Boubakary Sidik.

The team’s head coach Jean Paul Akono and his assistant Martin Ndtoungou are expected to arrive an hour later by a South African Airways flight from Johannesburg.

The third batch for the day will  include Jean Kana Biyick who plays for a French side  Rennes, striker Fabrice Olinga of Spain’s Malaga FC, defender  Allan Nyom (Udinese) and Montpellier’s left back Henri Bedimo.

 The rest of the players including Barcelona’s midfielder Alexandre Song are expected to arrive tomorrow and join their colleagues.

The Cameroon national soccer team is arriving in Dar es Salaam at the invitation of the country’s football federation to honour an international friendly scheduled for Wednesday at the national Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

Taifa Stars as the Tanzania national soccer team, is known has been training since yesterday to gear up for the highly respectable friendly.

 The match will be officiated by FIFA acknowledged officials from Rwanda.

Munyemana Hudu will be the central referee and assisted by Simba Honore and Ndagizimana Theogine while Tanzania’s Oden Mbaga is a reserve referee.

.The Rwandan officials are expected to arrive today and are booked at a centrally located hotel in Dar es Salaam.

 The mid-week fixture has a kick off of 17: 00 hours to allow fans to watch the game after office hours.

 The match against the central African team will be the second friendly since the year started after Taifa Stars lost to Ethiopia early last month.
