Bankers lose in friendly soccer

5th February 2013

Soft drinks processors and cigarette makers Coca-Cola and Tanzania Cigarette Companies made most of the mockery as they floored Bank of Africa in friendly matches played at the Leaders Club ground in Dar es Salaam over the weekend.

The bankers suffered a comprehensive 3-0 defeat from the cigarette makers in the opening match before stumbling to 2-0 goals when they faced the soft beverage makers.

The defeat accounts for profligacy as most of the bankers’ strikers failed to utilise available opportunities that came their way.

The bankers paid heavy price for lining up a team that never trained properly to cause havoc at their goal and concede the five goals on separate occasions.

Other 16 teams were also attracted to compete in the football gathering that spiced up the weekend.
