Dharam Pandya in Subaru Impreza
Tanzania motor rally champion Dharam Pandya is looking forward to compete in other events outside the country given the opportunity.
The young driver who was crowned as the country’s best over the weekend in Dar es Salaam said he is in strong quest to display his prowess through competing in other motor rallies outside the borders.
He declined to mention which rally he is interested with but said until he secures sponsors then details will be unveiled.
The driver who was navigated by his uncle Sanjeev Pandya ever since he started his career over five years ago, said this time he is changing the navigator.
Dharam said the reason behind change of the navigator is based on his uncle’s move to take a pause for the time being.
The next navigator for Pandya is Hussein Jaffer from Tanga and most likely he will be beside him during the seasonal opener next month in Dar es Salaam.
Not much is known for Jaffer’s navigation expertise but Pandya has a trust in him to feature during this season’s title retention bid.
Pandya has taken the reigns of the Tanzanian championship from his father Kirit who dominated the previous season events with Awadh Bafadhil as his navigator.
The AAT has lined up eight rallies for the unfolding season, three of them to be held in Dar es Salaam and includes the African Rally Championship, ARC in June.
