The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has urged home fans to provide support when Azam and Simba host visiting Al Nasr and FC Libolo in the first leg matches of the Confederation of African Football leagues on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
The matches will be played at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam as the home sides are busy in preparations gearing up for the duels.
Simba will be competing in the CAF Champions League while Azam have an assignment in the Confederation Cup.
According to the federation’s press release, fans have been urged to turn out in huge numbers during the match to encourage the home teams to post victories.
Al Nasr Juba is a South Sudan team while Club Libolo are Angola champions.
The call has been made in an attempt to avoid any act of demoralizing home sides as fans have in the past extended their domestic rivalry into international matches.
It has not happened nor once neither twice home teams are booed by rival fans and cheer the visitors.
Most of the visiting teams have found a safe sanctuary in Tanzania whenever Yanga and Simba play their international matches whether competitive or friendly.
