Libolo FC players celebrating

Visiting Libolo FC from Angola shocked Simba by a lone goal in the first leg match of the CAF Champions League. Played at the national Stadium in dares Salaam yesterday. The visitors scored after 24 minutes through Joao Martins glancing header off Dario Cardoso’s aerial cross.

Simba will have to work beyond the call of duty in the return leg to be played in Luanda in two weeks time.

This is Simba’s worst performance in the Champions League for the past five years. Poor show and disorganisation was characteristic of Simba during the game.

Simba will have to beat the Angolan club by more than two goals should they need to make progress in the league.
Simba’s captain Juma Kaseja said his team has lost the match but are still in the race as they can also post a victory away from home.
