The annual TPC Open championship will be staged at the nine-hole TPC course for two days from June 2.

A latest statement from the Tanzania Golf Union’s administrator Sophie Nyanjera shows that the event will be played over 18 holes each day.

The event runs towards TGU’s order of merit series that gauged and rank players according to their performance levels.

TPC Sugar Limited has taken sponsorship responsibility and has set aside various prizes for all six categories.

Title holder Abbas Adam from Moshi Club will face a stiff challenge from other competitors.

Currently Arusha Gymkhana Club amateur Nuru Mollel has 35 points to open a seven point gap over blood brother Jimmy who has so far amassed 28.25 points.

Third placed in the merit series standings table are Frank Roman and Elisante Lembris of Moshi and Arusha club’s respectively. The duo has tied on 24 points.

Besides the active low handicappers, the event also is open to all seniors, juniors and ladies who will be competing on the subsidiary event.
