Tanzania secretary general Suleiman Nyambui

The national athletics championships will be held at the national Stadium in Dare s Salaam next month, the Athletics Tanzania secretary general Suleiman Nyambui confirmed yesterday.

The event is for two days taking off from July 23 as regional teams are supposed to confirm their participation before the second week of next month.

He said the championship is important for athletes to exhibit their capabilities before the national team is select for the All African Games in Mozambique.

“The championship will be the last preparations for the national team before final squad selection of the team for the Games in Mozambique”, said Nyambui.

In a related development Nyambui said his association has extended invitation letters to athletes asking them to prepare for the Mauritius Marathon nut with surprising poor response.
