Faiza Ally was crowned Miss Tabata early yesterday in a beauty contest held at Da West Park, Tabata, in Dar es Salaam.
The nineteen-year-old queen defeated 20 other contestants to win Sh1m.
Godliver Mashamba (22) who won Sh500,000 emerged first runner-up while Lilian Bryson (22) was second runner-up and she was awarded Sh300,000.
Rita Mvungi (21)and Agustina Mshanga (20) finished fourth and fifth respectively. They were awarded Sh200,000 each.
Other aspirants who finished in the top ten were awarded Sh 100,000 each.
They are Nasra Salim (21), Willieth Wilson (22), Prisila Mchemwa (19), Crecensia Haule (20) and Edina Mnada (21). The top 10 queens will compete in the Miss Ilala contest later this year.
The rest were awarded a consolation prize of Sh50,000 each. They are Sweetlily Suleiman (21), Maria John (21), Happyness Emmanuel (18), Mariam Manyanya (21), Angela Fortunatus (21) and Lucia Joseph (20).
Miss Tabata 2011 was coordinated and organised by Bob Entertainment and Keen Arts and it was sponsored by Dodoma Wine, Vodacom, Redds Original, Integrated Communications, Paris Pub, Freditto Entertainment, Chicken Hut, Travel Partners, Ben Expedition, Screen Masters, Sean Entertainment, Michuzi blogspot, Anech Stationary and Vayle Springs.
