Twanga to celebrate Valentine Day in style

Dar es Salaam fans will be thrilled by the music from African Stars Band “Twanga Pepeta” at Tabata’s Da West Park as they celebrate Valentine Day today.

The concert dubbed as Dodoma Wine Valentine Show, is organised by Bob Entertainment and Keen Arts.

The director of the band, Asha Baraka, said yesterday that her band has prepared enough to give real entertainment to their fans.

“We have trained well for the show. People who will feel and enjoy our music in this special day,” she added.

The band popularly known as ‘Wazee wa Kisigino’, will go into the today’s show coming from Zanzibar where after performing at the Sauti Za Busara last night.

Asha said that the band would use the lovers’ day to introduce their new musicians and new songs to the public. “We are appealing to our music fans to come in big numbers to see special things which have prepared for them. We have new songs, raps and dancing styles,” Asha added.

Musicians who recently joined the band are Khadija Mnoga, Greyson Semsekwa, Vena and Haji of BSS.

Other members who form the group are vocalists-cum-dancers Charles Baba, Dogo Rama, Msafiri Diouf, Amigolas, Saleh Kupaza, Luiza Mbutu and Janet Isinika.

Instrumentalists are Jojo Jumanne, Adolph Mbinga, Thabiti Abdul, Miraji Shakashia, Gody Kanuti, Kado, Victor Mkambi, James Kibosho and MCD to mention but a few.

Dancers are Super K, Saidi, Mandela, Abdilayi Zingu, Asha Sharapova, Lilian Enternet, Aisha Madinda, Maria Soloma, Vicky and Regina.

On his part, Charles Baba said that they have prepared well to thrill fans on that rare day.

The coordinator of the show, Joseph Kapinga, said that they had prepared a a good show which people will live to remember as a number of gifts woulkd be given to the fans.

The band will also feature their new songs which they collaborated Congolese music guru Bozi Boziana. Some of the band’s songs which are currently doing well are Mwana Dar es Salaam, Shida ni Darasa, Rafiki Adui, Mwisho wa Ubaya ni Aibu, Nazi Haivunji Jiwe and Sitaki Tena.
