The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) is looking forward to make use of the electronic tickets as a measure to curb massive gate collection pilferage during matches.

The initiative which has been worked out by the federation has been so far successful with CRDB bank winning the tender to facilitate the ticket introduction.

Seven firms had expressed interest to win the tender and after long examination, the football federation has opted for CRDB as the winner.

The TFF tender committee, which met on July 13, came with the decision to work with the CRDB bank after being satisfied with the presentation of the tickets that also involved three other firms.

Some of the reasons that enabled the CRDB bank to win the tender include capacity, credibility, technology and customer reliability before the public.

The introduction of electronic tickets would be a huge relief to football fans who would now have easy access to purchase the tickets with superb convenience without wasting time.

Revenue collection will be easily controlled with increased accuracy and shortened time for counting money.

Security measures will be highly enhanced and cost reduction in hiring gate keepers and salesmen/women while a full control of fake tickets will be in force.

The TFF president Leodegar Tenga said the federation has reached a milestone achievement with the much awaited introduction of the electronic tickets.

“The advent of electronic tickets is a huge relief and big success not only to the football federation but also to the entire football fraternity as well,” said Tenga.

The electronic tickets will be in use within the next three months as CRDB is gearing up to upgrade the system countrywide.
