Petrol firm initiates campaign on lubricants for `Kilimo Kwanza`

A leading petroleum company in the country, Engen, on Wednesday launched a promotion campaign on newly introduced lubricants which it says will help in the pushing forward Kilimo Kwanza.

This took place in Dar es Salaam in a ceremony that was graced by Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS), quality assurance officer, Rehema Nyamoga, wheeny six types of lubricants were introduced.

Speaking at the event, Engen acting managing director Shaaban Kayungilo, said the lubricants, oil and greases in that specific campaign were manufactured at the Engen’s state-of-art Lube Oil Blend in Durban, South Africa.

“Our lubricants have been tested, tested and tested again and are designed specifically to meet the harsh driving conditions that we all experience in our local environment,” Kayungilo said.

Kayungilo named the oils and lubricants with high quality that have been introduced in the launch as Engen Dieselube 700 Super-15w API CI+, Engen XTREME 15W-40, Hydraulic Oil Engen TQH 20 Series and Gengear Series, Engen Super WB Grease and Engen Premium EP Series.

He said after Dar es Salaam, the campaign will move to Mwanza, Arusha and Mbeya where oils graded per industrial, marine and agricultural lubricants will be presented in support of Kilimo Kwanza theme.

He said the products would be available at the forecourts of retail service stations from their Kurasini Terminal and depots in Mwanza and Kigoma as well as a network of resellers and distributors across the country.

The types of lubricants that will be campaigned range from automotive oils, industrial lubricants to Engen greases, he said without specifying how long the campaign will be conducted.

 “Users will be educated on the best ways to use these products and get to know the secret behind the quality of our oils. We will conduct seminars targeting industrial sector and big garages,” he said.

Speaking on behalf of TBS director, the bureau’s Quality Assurance Officer, Rehema Nyamoga urged the petrol company to introduce in the market products with high quality.
“That will be assistance to TBS, your customers as well as the benefit of the whole nation,” she said.
