After near misses to lose silverware collection, Azam FC have pledged to seriously take every game as important in the ongoing super eight league.

Azam breezed past Police Morogoro by 2-1 goals in Moshi as they cruised into the semi-finals of the newly launched tourney.

The team has a strong quest to exceed beyond the runners-up spot in domestic competitions.

Azam finished behind champions Simba in the Mainland premiership of the previous season, runners-up to Yanga during Kagame Cup and before that they also ended losing finalists to Simba in the Zanzibar Friendship Cup.

Azam’s information officer Jafari Iddi said players have promised to work hard and cruise into the prize podium.

Meanwhile, the new Azam trainer Boris Bunjak, who replaced Stewart Hall, has started the job with a victory which took them to the semi finals.

The coach, who was in the stands when his team lost 2-0 to Mtibwa at their own Chamanzi backyard, was in full charge during a 2-1 victory over Police Morogoro in Moshi over the weekend.
