Alongside its principal business operations, the Tanzania Breweries Limited has taken a new bold step in the overall promotion of musicians in the country.
The Kilimanjaro Tanzania Music Awards, KTMA, that has been staged for the second year in a row is developing into a perfect stage for our musicians to improve performances.
Unlike the past when musicians just composed songs for the sake of entertaining fans, the trend has slightly changed now as they also focus on wining the awards as well.
Musicians are filled with new inspiration, knowing that there are agents or people who see value in their efforts.
Ever since TBL embarked on honouring the musicians, we have seen new faces and huge increase in up-and-coming musicians storming the stages at entertainment venues.
The KTMA now stands as a yardstick in not only honouring the musicians but also sustaining the entertainment industry.
Before the introduction of KTMA, some of the up-and-coming musicians penetrated the market the hard way. The KTMA makes a huge exposure of our musicians as well as opening up new horizons at both domestic and international levels.
The brewers have gone a step beyond honourng our musicians, as they also do a sort of marketing on their behalf as well as creating awareness of the musicians’ existence.
The awards simplify the musicians’ efforts to reach the market and solicit sponsors for their daily business of music compositions and equipment acquisition.
What is more in ensuring that the music is promoted, the brewers have gone an extra mile of taking all the KTMA winners to perform in selected regions to express their appreciation to the voters who enabled them to win the awards.
The six regions the musicians have visited are more than enough for the to create sales promotion ambiance ahead of their personal attempt to market their products.
It is a huge motivation to the musicians and is sure to boost their marketing strategies.
Whoever took the initiative of introducing the KTMA must have focused on the long-term benefit to the musicians.
The KTMA cuts across the entire music industry categories such that the motivation is likewise spread to all.
Music has now become a full-fledged business and contributes in big part to cutting down unemployment particularly for the young generation of Tanzanians.
Probably the brewers need to polish the awards more, but so far what they are doing is a major contribution to the country, compared to the past.
The KTMA creativity should be enhanced with a view to boosting music promotion and the industry as a whole and thus creating more job opportunities.
We salute the brewers for what they are doing in terms of domestic music industry promotion and for respecting our home-grown talents.
We urge TBL to intensify efforts and also keep polishing the awards.
Since the project is a trade mark of the brewers, please make sure you don’t lose it.
Do not let go of the good work you have embarked on which is appreciated by music lovers across the country.
