Prominent businessman Mustafa Sabodo has donated 100m/- to Chama cha Demokrasia na Maendeleo (Chadema) to support the party in the construction of its headquarters in Dar es Salaam.
According to Sabodo, he has disbursed the money as a gift to the party after it emerged victorious in the just ended by-election in Arumeru East constituency, Arusha region.
Sabodo also pledged to support Chadema in the construction of 10 wells in Arumeru East and in providing 100 wheelchairs to the needy.
Speaking at his residence yesterday in Dar es Salaam, Sabodo highlighted his interest for supporting political parties in the country, Chadema in particular, saying he was proud of political activities it was conducting. For his part, Chadema secretary-general Dr Wilbroad Slaa thanked Sabodo for the support.
“It’s due to your commitment and love to citizens of this country you have appeared in public to support our move [construction of the headquarters],” Dr Slaa told the businessman.
The secretary general assured Sabodo that the 10 boreholes he financed will be drilled in Arumeru East constituency, as planned. He also informed that the 100 wheelchairs will be allocated later on.
