Cpwaa named Kilimanjaro Premium Lager Ambassador

Bongo Flava artiste Juma Ilunga Khalifa, alias Cpwaa, has been named Kilimanjaro Premium Lager Brand Ambassador for the ongoing ‘Kili Jivunie uTanzania Campaign’ which is being held in line with 50 years of Tanganyika’s independence celebrations.

This was revealed yesterday when Kilimanjaro Premium Lager handed over return tickets to South Africa to Cpwaa, who has been nominated for the Channel O Music Video Awards scheduled for today at Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg.

 Speaking during the hand over ceremony, the Kilimanjaro Premium Lager Brand Manager, George Kavishe, said his brand was proud to be associated with the artiste as a way of taking Tanzanian music to greater heights.

 “On his return he will support the ongoing ‘Kili Jivunie uTanzania Campaign’ as a brand ambassador,” he said.

 Kilimanjaro gesture comes after the musician scooped two awards in a row during the Kilimanjaro Tanzania Music Awards, in 2009/10 - he won Best Music Video of the Year and in this year’s Awards 2010/11 he won the Best Music Video of the Year with his hit number –‘Action’.

The same song’s video has been nominated for Most Gifted East Africa Music Video of the Year in Channel O Music Video Awards 2011.

 He is accompanied to the awards by his manager Juma Adam Mikidadi, video director Luciano Gadie Tsere and two video producers. And according to the artist, while in Johannesburg he will use that opportunity to shoot his new music video.

 The musician thanked Kilimanjaro Premium Lager for the support which he said will boost his career.

 He also promised to work closely with the brand upon return to give a boost to the ongoing ‘Kili Jivunie uTanzania Campaign’.

 The ‘Jivunie UTanzania Campaign’ was launched in July this year as part of the 50 years of independence celebrations and among major objectives is to remind Tanzanians where they have come from, where they are now and where they are going and above all feeling proud of what they have achieved.
