Nine players of the relegated Police Dodoma team have to dig deep into their pockets to pay one million shillings each after being fund guilty of assaulting referee during their premiership match against Azam FC at the Jamhuri Stadium in Dodoma a fortnight ago.

The players who have violated premier league regulation number 25(g) (iii) are Noël Msekwa, Frank Sindato, Abdallah Matila, Bantu Admin, Salmin Kisi, Madope Mwingira, Sihaba Mkude, Kaliyasa Mashaka and Ibrahim Massawe.

The fine stands even if the players happen to win transfer into other teams whether in the tip flight berth or elsewhere.

Their team has been fined half million shillings for the violence committed by their fans soon after the match against Azam which they lost by a lone goal.

The team has also to pay additional half million shillings for repotting late during their premiership match against hosts Yanga played at the national Stadium in Dar es Salaam last Sunday.

The premier league committee that met mid this week also came with the decision to fine Moro United a half million shillings for their players for dressing room boycott during a match against Simba played at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam that ended in loss of three goals for the team.

In another decision by the committee Villa Squad’s objection against African Lyon team in connection with making use of illegal players has been duped.

Villa claimed Lyon duo of Mohamed Samata and Benedict Jacob featured for the team while their contracts had expired.

However, the committee said the players can feature for the Lyon team as log as they have valid licence. Of late the premier league committee has been busy in resolving disputes through appeals that has virtually benefited coffers of the Tanzania Football Federation’s coffers through fines.
