Yanga`s new Belgian trainer Tom Saintfiet is expected to sign a coaching contract with the Kagame Cup holders in Dar es Salaam today, so says the club’s information officer Louis Sendeu.

The official said his team has greed contractual terms with the coach who arrived in Dar es Salaam on Wednesday morning.

However, Sendeu declined to unveil the contract’s fundamental terms that include its duration remuneration and fringes.

He said Yanga is very happy to have landed the services of the 39-year-old coach who is expected to transform the team’s fortunes.

“Our team has agreed all terms with the coach and we are very happy that he has agreed to take charge of the team. We believe that his coming on board will help to transform our team,” he said.

In related development, Sendeu said campaigning for the team’s leadership posts gets underway today and his team has not received any recent objection on the contestants or withdrawals.

“We have unconfirmed reports that all those who showed interest to contest in the election are serious to do so. The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has not communicated to us in case there are any changes,” he said.

Meanwhile, one of the candidates for the post of executive membership, Jumanne Mohamed Mwammenywa, who also featured for the club in 1977-78, has urged all the contestants to conduct their campaigns in conformity with the club’s rules.

He said election time is a period when the people can tarnish the club’s reputation and integrity through insulting each other.

He also asked all the contestants to respect each other during campaign period and those who will emerge winners to celebrate their victory with dignity while losers to accept results of the elections.

Yanga members will go to polls on July 14 and the elections are being held after previous chairman Lloyd Nchunga resigned amid criticism of failing to run the club efficiently.
