


Nigerian under 20 football team arrived in Dar es Salaam yesterday in readiness for the African Nations Cup youth qualifier tie against the host side at the National Stadium in Dar es salaam on Sunday.
The Flying Eagles, as the team is known, landed at the Julius Nyerere International Airport yesterday afternoon with a contingent comprising 30 people, 18 players inclusive.
The teams are competing for a place at the 18th edition of the Nations Cup for U-20 players to be hosted by Algeria early next year.
Kenyan referees will be in charge of the match as Ugandan Charles Masembe is the commissioner.
In a build up towards Sunday’s crucial encounter, the Nigerian side played against their counterparts from Rwanda in Kigali and lost by a one goal at the Amahoro Stadium.
Some of the players making the team include Chidi Osuchukwu, Alhaji Gero, Shehu Abdullahi, Aminu Umar, Aliyu Mohamed, Uche Agbo, Jonah Usman, Harrison Egbune, Hassan Abubakar and Yahya Adamu.
