Shein swears in new Z`bar House secretary
Zanzibar President Dr Ali Mohamed Shein yesterday sworn in Yahya Khamis Hamad as Secretary of the House of Representatives and Mohammed Mwinjuma Kombo as Head of Zanzibar Valantia Unity (ZVU).
A Zanzibar State House statement issued yesterday said, Yahya fills the post that was left vacant by Ibrahim Mzee Ibrahim, who early this year was appointed as the Isles Director of Prosecution.
The swearing in ceremony was attended by government officials, including First Vice President Seif Sharif Hamad, Second Vice President Seif Ali Idd, Speaker of the House of Representatives Pandu Ameir Kificho and Chief Judge Omar Othman Makungu.
Others are Minister of State in the President’s Office Dr Mwinyihaji Makame and Minister of State in the Second Vice President’s Office Mohammed Aboud.
On the list of attendance also were regional commissioners, Zanzibar mayor, and army officers.
Yahya was employed in the office of Zanzibar Attorney General and before that he worked in the judiciary department.
Meanwhile, Dr Shein has appointed Abdulghani Himid Msoma as Board Chairman of the Zanzibar Aviation Authority and Saada Thani as Chairman of Zanzibar Education Council.
