Holders Tanzania Peoples’ Defence Forces, TPDF have successfully delayed title celebrations for the Prisons team after wining their league match by 2-0 goals at their base in Lugalo yesterday.
TPDF goals were all scored in the e first half through Abdallah Kalinda after 19 minutes Ilyas Kamala six minutes later.
The defeat has placed Prisons to wait for their next Sunday’s final match against equally competitive Khalsa who are third placed in the standings with ten points having floored Ngome by 2-1 goals at the same venue yesterday.
Khalsa who have played six matches have a ceiling of attaining 16 points should they win all their remaining fixtures.
Khalsa scored their opening goal through Ravi Varja after 31 minutes while n. Juma increased the tally after 41 minutes.
The consolation goal for Ngome was scored by Joachim Msigwa in the 53rd minute.
TPDF have two matches in hand and might retain title should they post victories. Prisons need only to draw their match against Khalsa and re4ach unassailable points.
