The Tanzania Breweries limited yesterday dug deep in its coffers to dish out 20m/- to Kagame Cup holders Young Africans in a bid to facilitate the club’s general elections set for Sunday after the next in Dar es Salaam.
The cheque was presented to the club’s secretary general, Celestine Mwesigwa, by the brewers’ director of corporate and legal affairs, Steve Kilindo, in presence of acting Kilimanjaro Premium Lager brand manager Oscar Shelukindo and the Tanzania Football Federation’s secretary general Angetile Osiah.
Shelukindo said his brand has a passion and commitment to the football game and is genuinely interested in the progress of Young Africans.
The brewers are supporting the club in its annual general meeting and transition to new leadership.
“We know that this is a great club, with a great history and therefore we believe that it needs strong and accountable leadership. We remain committed and will continue to work closely with you to ensure that we take Tanzania’s soccer to greater heights,” said Shelukindo.
He urged delegates to the AGM to ensure they play their role well by conducting peaceful elections to install leaders who will work in the interest of the club.
