The family of the late Patrick Mafisango, who died in a car crash yesterday in Dar es Salaam, is making funeral arrangement including flying the body to Kinshasa tomorrow.
Mafisango, who was a naturalised Rwanda citizen, was born in Kinshasa on March 09, 1980 before he changed his citizenship to Rwanda on the peak of his football career a decade ago.
Simba officials successfully secured centrally located Leaders Club as the place where people would pay their last respects to their fallen hero in Dar es Salaam from early hours this morning.
His body would be flown by Kenya Airways flight tomorrow morning and will be accompanied by Simba officials and fans.
A multitude of football fans are expected to flock for the last respect owing to the player’s popularity.
Simba fans, most of them clustered in the club’s traditional colours of red and white, gathered at the clubhouse alongside Msimbazi Street Kariakoo throughout yesterday.
News of his death was broken early in the morning as most of the people were rushing to offices and other working places.
Other mourners were at Mafisango’s residence in Keko Toroli with family members.
