


The Tanzania Cricket Association, TCA, has organised a Twenty20 Ramadhan League to be competed by Dar es Salaam-based recreational teams.
The league is already underway at the Leaders Club in the city since last Sunday where two matches were played.
Academy Boys posted eleven run win over Dik Dik.
The losers collapsed when the scoreboard read 165 runs in the opening match.
The winners won the toss, opted to bat and set up a target of 176 runs in the allotted 20 overs.
Benson Mwita and Nassoro Zahoro were outstanding as they batted 46 and 40 runs respectively.
Dik Dik batting duo of one Dru and one Greed got down to business with outstanding 56 and 52 runs, respectively but was not enough to earn their team’s victory.
During the other match Aga Khan’s Arshaan Jessan made 75 runs as team mate Seif Khalifa chipped in 25.
Aga Khan lost four wickets during their 167 runs rout as B. United collapsed with the scoreboard reading 4 runs.
Meanwhile, Academy girls were crowned cricket queens in the women league that came to its closure over weekend.
The champions outclassed Uluguru by hefty 120 runs in a match played at the Anadil Burhan venue.
