Miss Tanzania flies to London

Deputy minister for Transport Athuman Mfutakamaba (2nd L) presents the national flag to Miss Tanzania, Salha Israel at the Tanzania Investment Centre office premises in Dar es Salaam yesterday.

Miss Tanzania Salha Israel was presented with the national flag in Dar es Salaam yesterday ahead of next month’s World beauty pageantry to be staged in London.

Salha who won the title on the 10th of last month boards a London-bound flight tomorrow while accompanied by officials of the Miss Tanzania organizing committee.

Beside the flag presentation, the Miss Tanzania was also handed over cash to the tune of nine million shillings courtesy of staff members of the Ministry of Transport and the Tanzania Investment Centre, TIC.

The deputy minister for Transport Athumani Mfutakamba presented the flag to the Tanzanian representative in the world event.

Israel said she is confident of making a progress in the event after spending time workings on the mission for Miss World title haul.

She pledged to excel at the event despite the gravity and competence of the other participants.

She has been urged by the minister to work hard on highlighting Tanzania’s tourism potentials and attractions.

Minister Mfutakamba asked Israel to highlight Gombe National Park that composes gorillas who are capable of speaking various languages.

"I’m sure Israel is on her way to expose our tourism potentials beside her prime target of wining the Miss World title.

Israel expressed her sincere appreciation to past winners of Miss Tanzania Richa Adhia (2007) and Happiness Magese (2001) who assisted her on how best to compete in the Miss World show.

Miss Tanzania’s Trustee who is former director TIC, Emmanuel Ole Naiko, said Israel has been groomed to excel in London and he has full confidence of her representation.
