Tanzania representatives in the Confederation Cup, Simba SC, will play an international buildup match against Malawi national soccer team between May 24 and May 28 at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Msimbazi Street side will use the game to prepare for the Confederation Cup in case they will eliminate Al-Ahly Shandy of Sudan next weekend.
The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Secretary-General, Angetile Osiah, said yesterday that apart from playing Simba, the visitors will also play a trial game against Taifa Stars.
“Malawi has written to us requesting to play with Taifa Stars and one of the top local sides,” said Osiah Osiah, adding that TFF has proposed Simba to play against them because it is the only side competing in the international meet.
He said that TFF was coordinating with Simba officials to see if they will be available for the game.
He said if Simba will agree, the visiting side will arrive in the country on May 24 and leave on May 29.
“It will be a good trial for Simba in case they eliminate Al-Ahly Shandy next weekend,” the secretary general added.
Simba hit Al-Ahly Shandy 3-0 in the first leg match in Dar es Salaam last weekend. The teams will meet in the return leg in Addis Ababa next weekend.
Yesterday, Simba Vice chairman Geofrey Nyange 'Kaburu' said they were waiting to be informed officially by TFF about the trial game.
