The ZFA has already received return flight tickets to the tournament venue for 18 and seven officials.

However, despite the availability of the 25 return flight tickets, ZFA still seeks additional funds to cater for the team’s predations to the tune of
39m/- as confirmed by Attai.

Attai said ZFA has cooperated with the Government to form a special committee to be in charge of fund raising activities to meet the colossal expenditure demand.

The committee will be under chairman  Munir Zakaria, secretary general Kassim Ali, treasurer Attai as Abdullah Thabit, Layla Said and Asaa Authman as members.

The committee has already donated half million to the fund’s pool.

"It’s time for the entire Zanzibar people to held the team so as to realise our dream for football promotion as well as other aspects such as tourism promotion", said Attai.

The “World Cup” will be Zanzibar’s second international championship beside the annual Challenge Cup for East and Central African countries.

Zanzibar’s bid to secure FIAF membership has completely collapsed on grounds of lacking souvrenity through the formation of the United Republic of Tanzania in 1964
