Religious album composed for charity

Multi-talented Shivan Suraiya in collaboration with Akili Productions has produced an eight-song religious album whose proceeds will go to charity.

Shivan said yesterday that all the songs were composed by Akili Productions while she did the vocals in Gujarati.

She said the album brings up her artistic life and will be on the market once production ends.

“I expect huge sales from the album. The album has eight Bhajans (religious songs), which were composed by Akili while I did the vocals,” she said.

She said the hand made fans will be displayed at a function and proceeds from the display The Seventeen Years old last year applied for the Guinness Book of Records after collecting 120,000 bookmarks for a period of three years.

The bookmark carrys peace and love messages and also encourages young people to have a culture of reading books.

In 2009 she had her name in the LIMCA book by making the world’s largest key holder that is 18 ft long and 15 kgs in weight.

The key holder was locally displayed at the Dar es Salaam Lions Club to symbolize peace and unity.

.On top of singing , Shivani is also a writer and she has written four books to her credit, and the money from her first book titled ‘The Magnificent Fruits,’ which was written between 2006/007 and sold over 1,000 copies, was used to purchase two stretchers and four wheelchairs for Ocean Road Cancer Institute (ORCI).
