DMSC motor rally flags off

A two-day motor rally that counts towards the national championship flags off in Dar es Salaam on Saturday.
 The event is organized by the Dar es Salaam Motor Sports Club as confirmed by the club’s official Salim Hadji.

Hadjis said over 15 drivers have enrolled to compete in the rally expected to be a thriller for the opening season.

 Hadji said Sea Cliff is the starting point of the rally that will see drivers proceed to Masaki in Kisarawe where the competitive sections are lined up.

So far only two upcountry drivers have shown interest to compete in the event with the rest coming from Dar es Salaam.

 Pandya rally team will field two cars under courtesy of their Flightlink sponsor who helped the team excel during the previous season.

 Kirit Pandya and his navigator Awadh Bafadhil will be in their Subaru Legacy car as wonder boy Dharam Pandya I expected to be guided by his uncle Sanjeev in their Subaru Imprezza.

Kirit who won the Automobile Association of Tanzania’s best driving performance award for the previous season, said has prepared well to prove last year’s show was not a fluke.

 Also expected to make his presence felt is Fayaz Chandu, a former Union Friends wicket keeper using Subaru  Impreza in the two days duel.

The rally will be preceded by super special stage show to be held at Kawe in Northern Dar es Salaam.

The rally will be the last ahead of September’s Kobil Rally of Tanzania that doubles as national and continental championships as well.
