Bonite Bottlers scoops Presidental Manufacturers of the Year Awards

Bonite Bottlers Tanzania Limited, a beverage bottling company based in Moshi, has scooped this year President’s Manufacturers’ of the Year Award in Beverage and Tobacco Industrial sub-sector, large size category.

Speaking in an exclusive interview at the sideline of the ceremony, The Guardian Deputy Managing Director, Abdiel Mengi, who received the trophy on behalf of the firm said ‘quality aspiration’ was the secret behind the firm’s success.

“At Bonite, quality comes before everything else and we ensure that it is maintained all the time. That is the secret and this has been paying off,” he said.

Bonite Bottlers Limited’s beverages division encompasses fully integrated bottling, sales and distribution operations and has grown virtually unchallenged in the recent past according him.

President Jakaya Kikwete expressed gratitude to a number of companies and institutions that emerged winners in this year’s competition, including Barkhresa Food Products Limited which emerged the Food Processing category and 2010 overall winner.

In the Textile and Apparels size large category, the award went to 21st Century Textiles Limited, while in Leather Products and Footwear medium size category it was taken by Bora Industries. JAET Limited won the Leather Products and Footwear award in the small size category.

Shelys Pharmaceuticals Tanzania Limited scooped the large size firms’ category in Chemicals and Chemical Products, while Jambo plastics Tanzania Limited was announced winner in the Rubber and Plastic products in large size firms’ category. DPI Simba was winner in the medium size firms’ category.

Others firms include TLL Printing and Packaging in Paper who triumphed in the Paper Products, Printing, Publishing and Packaging Industrial Sub-sector large size category. Tanzania Brush Products Limited took the trophy in medium size category in Wood Products and Furniture.

ALAF Limited took the award in the large size category in Metal and Non-Metal Industrial Sub-sector, while Kilimanjaro Cables won the medium size firms’ category in the same sub-sector.

Alliance Insurance Corporation Limited and Golden Assurance scooped the medium and small size category awards respectively in the Insurance sector.

Bonite Bottling Limited (BBL) bottles and distributes 12 Coca Cola brands. A subsidiary of the IPP Group of companies, the firm also bottles its own brand of water—Kilimanjaro Drinking Water.
