Small and medium entrepreneurs who are already in business countrywide would benefit from 200m/- that is for offer by Tanzania Breweries Limited as subsidy to make them improve their ventures.
Oscar Shellukindo, Safari Lager Brand manager told The Guardian that the brand under the auspices of the Tanzania Breweries Limited has launched a new campaign to empower SMEs known as ‘Wezeshwa na Safari Lager’.
“We have introduced this programme after observing that insufficient capital is the key factor hindering SMEs progress. This has made them to do businesses unprofessionally and this prevents them from moving forward quickly,” he said.
During the implementation of ‘Wezeshwa na Safari Lager’ programme, the programme will offer business investment subsidy of 200m/- to enterprises progressing through several stages of WSL.
Once a SME wins the WSL, it will obtain working equipment from the firm, he said.
The competition is open for all SMEs engaged in different sectors, he said, noting “We are encouraging them to participate in WSL so that they can benefit from the subsidy that we are planning to offer.”
SMEs willing to participate in the competition can pick up registration forms at TBL headquarters, all TBL depots, branches and all TBL’s wholesalers around the country. They can as well download them from www.wezeshwa.co.tz., he said.
The application period started on November 23, this year and it will end on March 2, next year.
Filled application forms can be sent to TBL headquarters, or emailed to [email protected], he said.
He said SMEs which will qualify would also attend a series of training seminars on how to write business plan and run business.
