Miss Kigamboni beauty pageantry gets underway at the Navy Beach resort in Dar es Salaam today, the event’s coordinator Somoe Ng’itu has confirmed.
The event has attracted twelve contestants who have been gearing up for the long-awaited show.
The organisers have set aside fabulous cash prizes for the winner and other contestants of the show.
Winner of the pageant will be entitled to scoop half a million shillings while the runners up has 350,000/- to take home. The third finisher is entitled to take home 300,000 while the fourth and fifth finishers have each a cash prize of 200,000/- at their doorstep.
The rest of the participants will have a consolation cash prize of 150,000/- to rejoice. Part of the proceeds from the event will be channelled to the Kigamboni Primary School for refurbishment works.
The organisers have decided to honour the school that has produced most of the participants.
The city’s FM Academia music band will be available to entertain fans throughout the show starting at 19:00 hours.
The winners of the Miss Kigamboni would represent the suburb to the zonal event for Temeke.
The beauty contestants lined up for the interview are Susanne Jeremiah, Agnes Goodluck, Elizabeth Boniface, Dorothea Kessy, Esther Albert, Edda Sylvester, Sophia Martin, Doreen Kweka, Khadija Kombo, Lina David, Rosemary Peter and Winnie Karaya.
Somoe expressed her sincere appreciation to corporate firms that have supported the event’s procession up to this stage. She named the firms as
Tanzania Breweries Limited through its Redd's brand beer, Dodoma Wine, Hope Country hotel, Screen Masters, Global Publishers, Nobro Collections, Times FM and Clouds FM.
