The foreign player who will be replaced by Kambange Twite at Young Africans SC (Yanga) will be known next week.
Yanga are in a move to sign the Rwandese midfielder in the short registration window, thus having to drop one player to remain with five as the premier league regulation states.
The team currently have five foreigners, namely Didier Kavumbagu (Burundi), Haruna Niyonzima (Rwanda), Mbuyu Twite (Rwanda), Hamis Kiiza (Uganda) and Yaw Berko (Ghana).
If the Twite identical twin will be recruited the player likely to be dropped is the Ghanaian custodian. Berko has been in the reserve lists when his team play in premier league and international matches.
Yanga interim secretary general Lawrence Mwalusako said yesterday that a decision on foreign players who will be dropped or remain in the team will be reached in an executive committee meeting set for next week.
“It is only the executive committee that will decide who goes or remains,” he said over the phone.
However, the team will not drop any if Niyonzima will cross over to El-Merreikh of Sudan and if Kavumbagu moves to a Qatar club, as yet unconfirmed by club sources.
