Simba will need 80,000 US dollars (about Sh136m) to keep their dependable Ugandan striker Emmanuel Okwi (pictured).
Okwi is here featuring for his national side, the Cranes, in the on going Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup.
The midfielder made the statement yesterday when reacting to the reports that he was in a move to join either Yanga or Azam FC.
His contract will end in June next year, he pointed out, saying “I have not signed for any club. What you hear are just rumours.”
He said he had already told Simba the amount he wanted and he will not hesitate to sign the contract once the Msimbazi Street Club pay him that amount.
He said he had already tabled other terms with Simba officials such as salary, house and car. “They have already given me a residential house and a car. What remains is the amount to the contract,” Okwi said, keeping his salary a secret.
He said that he is currently focusing on the Challenge Cup and his future at the Msimbazi Street club will be clarified after the regional tourney ends on December 8.
Other Simba players whose contracts end in June together with Okwi are goalie Juma Kaseja and suspended striker Haruna Moshi 'Boban'.
