Kilimanjaro Stars’ striking duo of Mrisho Ngasa and John Bocco share ten goals between them as the team heads into the semi-final of the ongoing Senior Challenge Cup in Kampala.
While Ngasa scored the tournament’s biggest haul of five goals in a single match against Somalia last Saturday, Bocco shook the nets in three separate matches.
The Azam striker, who failed to move into professional football with South African top flight side of Supersport United last July, made his presence felt at the group stage opener with a brace over Sudan.
He was on target again with another brace against Somalia in the last group game that ensured his team’s progression into the semi-final stage last Saturday,
Bocco was also on the score sheet when he scored the second goal for Mainland in a quarterfinal match against Rwanda yesterday.
The towering Bocco has been a constant menace to all opponents in the ongoing Challenge Cup and is looking for the tournament’s golden boot award.
Otherwise, Kili Stars striker Amri Kiemba is just beginning to make an impact in the tourney after scoring the opener against Rwanda yesterday.
However, most of the goals scored by Ngasa and Bocco have been engineered by attacking midfielder Mwinyi Kazimoto who has been superb in the build ups.
