Tanga's Coastal Union has kicked off the under-20 club championship at a cracking pace after breezing past Tanzania Prisons by 2-1 goals in their opening match played at the Karume Memorial Stadium in Dar es Salaam yesterday.
Coastal striking duo of Ramadhan Same and Yusuf Chuma scored for their team after 24 and 33 minutes, respectively.
Tanzania Prisons secured their consolation goal with last-gasp efforts. The Mbeya team is expected to play their second match of the Group A against JKT Ruvu at the Chamazi Stadium today.
Other matches lined up for today include Toto Africa versus Coastal Union to be played this morning at the Chamazi Stadium as well.
Group B matches will involve Simba versus African Lyon at the Karume Memorial Stadium while Azam meet Police Morogoro at the Chamazi Stadium later this evening.
Early in the morning, Group C teams of Kagera Sugar vs Oljoro JKT are scheduled to battle it out at the Karume Stadium while Yanga and Ruvu Shooting have their match later in the evening at the Chamazi Stadium.
The under 20 teams competing in the tourney are those of the Mainland premiership clubs. ends
