The Tanzania Women Football Association (TWFA) polls will be held in Morogoro on December 19, the electoral committee chairman Ombeni Zavala confirmed yesterday.
The election will be preceded by the body’s general assembly.
Eligible voters during the election are those who have been elected during the association’s regional bodies affiliated to TWFA.
The voters and other delegates are supposed to arrive in Morogoro a day before the election is held.
Candidates who vie for the association’s presidential post are Isabela Kapera, Joan Minja and Lina Kessy.
Rose Kissiwa so far stands as a sole candidate for the post of vice president.
The body’s secretary general’s post will be contested by Amina Karuma and Cecilia Mkafu.
Zena Chande stands as a sole candidate for the representative member of the association in the Tanzania Football Federation’s general assembly.
Furaha Francis, who was earlier interested to contest for the post, has eventually pulled out due to family commitments.
Candidates for the TWFA executive membership post is contested by Sophia Charles and Triphonia Temba.
The duo secured the opportunity following failure of Rahim Maguza, Macky Mhango and Rose Msamila to meet the requirements as per section 28(2) of TWFA constitution.
