High-flying Coastal impress in U-20 Cup

Coastal Union has continued to excel in the on-going U-20 championship for the Mainland premiership teams after breezing past Mwanza’s Toto Africa by 3-1 goals in a match played at the Chamazi Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Wednesday evening.

Toto striker Severin Constantine shocked Coastal Union with a superb goal after exactly half an hour.

The goal changed the complexion of the game as the winners deployed new tactics to transform the game.

Striker Mohamed Miraji opened the floodgates just a minute before the half time mark while Abdul Banda increased the tally after 62 minutes.

Ramadhan Shame hammered the final nail into the lakeside boys’ coffin with seven minutes to regulation time.

Coastal Union had earlier won their opening match against Tanzania Prisons by 2-1 to take an early led among group A teams.

Karume Memorial Stadium on the same day. Miraji Athuman and Ramadhan Mzee scored for Simba after 15 and 47 minutes respectively. The losers pulled their consolation goal ten minutes later through Mbela Kashakala.

Police Morogoro shocked Azam by a lone goal at the Karume Memorial Stadium while JKT Ruvu compiled misery on Tanzania prisons at the Azam Stadium I Chamazi, winning by Jacob Mambia’s 16th minute goal.

Yanga and JKT Ruvu battled to a barren draw at Chamazi.

Oljoro JKT tamed Kagera Sugar by3-0. goals at the Karume Stadium yesterday as Hamis Saleh opened the score sheet after 49 minutes before Shamir Mohamed had a brace within three minutes from the 52nd.

The tournament continues today as Mtibwa Sugar meet Toto Africa in the morning session match at the Karume memorial Stadium while Coastal Union date JKT Ruvu at the same venue in the afternoon session.

Oljoro JKT meets Yanga in the morning session at the Chamazi while Ruvu Shooting and Kagera Sugar play their game at the same venue later in the afternoon.

Mgambo Shooting vs. Simba is a match to be played at the Chamazi Stadium in the morning session while African Lyon and hosts Azam clash against each other at the same venue later in the afternoon.
