19th December 2012

Auxiliary policemen based in Bitmanyanga Village, Chunya District have recently found a bag full of 114 live ammunitions for an SMG in Lukwati game reserve located at the village as they were patrolling to search for poachers.

The militiamen found the bullets that had been abandoned by some unknown person whom they spotted from afar.
Speaking to journalists over the weekend, Mbeya Regional Police Commander, Diwani Athumani, said the bullets were picked by a militiaman known as Daimon John (32) a resident of Bitimayanga village.

He said in the bag that contained the bullets there was also a radio and other items that had been abandoned.
The RPC called on residents of Mbeya Region to engage in lawful economic activities because the illegal ones would land them in the hands of the law and they would face consequences.
