The first batch of the Cameroon national soccer team comprising 13 Players arrived as scheduled in Dar es Salaam on Sunday night ahead of friendly international against hosts Taifa Stars at the national Stadium tomorrow.
It was a busy schedule of arrival for the team’s other batches as the Tanzania Football Federation officials had to camp at the Julius Nyerere International Airport to receive three separate flights throughout yesterday.
Cameroon players and officials scattered in Europe and South Africa will have the final batch of the players arrive today.
The organisers of the match had already set up entry fees with 30,000/- as the highest while the lowest is 5,000/-/ Tickets will be on sale at designated vending points throughout Dar es Salaam.
The friendly international falling inside the FIFA bracket has a kick off set at 17:00 hours. The high profile friendly match has been talk of the city ever since the TFF secured it last week.
Many other national teams will also be on show tomorrow as they play friendly matches to honour FIFA dates and results will be included in the computation for global ranking.
Taifa Stars which boast of lucrative sponsorship from the Tanzania Breweries through their Kilimanjaro beer brand have been in training since Sunday to gear up for the match under coach Kim Poulsen.
Cameroon have never in the past won in Dar es Salaam and their last visit was in June 2007 when the African Nations Cup first leg qualifier match ended in barren draw.
Tomorrow’s match is expected to boost Taifa Stars preparations for the World cup qualifier match against Morocco at home next month. ends
