The bad omen continued to haunt defending champions Simba SC yesterday as JKT Oljoro came from behind to hold them 1-1 in a Mainland Premier League match at the Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium.
This is the second consecutive draw for the team trained by Patrick Liewig since the second part of the14-team league kicked off. They were last week held on the same margin by another armed forces team, JKT Ruvu, in a game staged at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Simba scored first in the seventh minute when JKT Oljoro goalie Said Lubawa could not stop Mwinyi Kazimoto’s long range shot.
Paulo Nonga leveled for the home side in the 56th minute when he used a Kalagha Gunda pass to beat custodian Juma Kaseja.
The defending champions struggled to increase the tally but their efforts failed despite introducing Mrisho Ngasa in the 58th minute for Rashid Mikoko.
The equalizer boosted the fighting spirit of JKT Oljoro but their plans to add a second could not succeed as Simba defenders, Shomari Kapombe and Jonas Mkude, were keen to clear.
Simba are still in third place with 28 points.
