Betty Boniface (20) emerged the winner of this year’s Miss Universe during a contest held at National Museum Hall in Dar es Salaam on Friday night.
The Dar es Salaam queen defeated 14 other contestants in the event organized by Compass Communications Company.
Betty was awarded Sh3 million and other prizes worth more than Sh 4 million. She will represent Tanzania at Miss Universe finals on November 9 in Moscow.
The beauty queen said that her dream had come true and believed to come out with best results as it was the case of Flaviana Matata in 2007 in Mexico City.
