Chalinze Member of Parliament (CCM), Saidi Bwanamdogo (45) died yesterday at Muhimbili Orthopaedic Institute (MOI) where he was undergoing treatment.
According to a statement availed to The Guardian, the Office of Parliament is making burial arrangements in collaboration with the family of the MP.
The statement said Bwanamdogo will be buried at his home village in Miono, Bagamoyo District.
President Jakaya Kikwete has sent his condolence message to the Speaker of the National Assembly Anne Makinda and the bereaved.
"I have been touched by the death of the lawmaker. His death is not only a blow to the Parliament where he contributed his skills in various debates, but also to the citizens especially those of Chalinze who he ably represented,” President Kikwete said in a statement.
Bwanamdogo was born in 1968 and served as Chalinze MP since 2010.
Before being a Member of Parliament he held various positions including District Commissioner (2006-2010), College of Business Education (CBE) Lecturer (2001-2006) and a teacher (1998-2001)
He was once a CCM member of National Executive Committee (2002), Member of CCM Youth Union Board (2004) and Member of Parents Investment Committee (2009).
