CHADEMA Chairman Freeman Mbowe has proved to be a political novice by attacking TLP Chairman Augustine Mrema, TLP said yesterday.

TLP Publicity Secretary Octavian Matikila made the claim yesterday in a press statement saying his party was deeply angered by Mbowe’s allegations that Mrema was “being used to weaken the opposition'.

Matikila said the assertion by Mbowe was a show of political bankruptcy by the CHANDEMA chief.

On Thursday Mbowe told a public rally in Songea Town, TLP Chairman Mrema does not want to unite with other opposition parties.

Mrema’s selfishness was having a negative impact on the opposition unity bid, he had said.

'Mrema is the root cause of endless conflicts in all parties he had led,' he said.

According to Matikila the outburst was a show the opposition players do not have a concrete political agenda and they were beginning to experience political bankruptcy.

The opposition stalwarts, instead of attacking each other, they should forge a united front based on valid arguments that will be able to bring about sustainable development, he said.

'What we need is to fight poverty and corruption to bring about development,' he said.

Opposition parties leaders should refrain from attacking each other and embark on a joint strategy to dislodge CCM from power, he said.
