Zanzibar President Amani Abeid Karume and Prime Minister Fredrick Sumaye were among hundreds of mourners who paid their respects to the body of Geoffrey Msuya, son of former Prime Minister Cleopa Msuya, in Dar es Salaam yesterday.

Also present at the Azania Front Lutheran Church were former President Ali Hassan Mwinyi, Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation minister Jakaya Kikwete, Cabinet ministers, members of the diplomatic corps, IPP Limited employees, friends and relatives.

Geoffrey, 41, died suddenly in Dar es Salaam last Sunday. He was a Senior Sales Officer with ITV/Radio One.

His body will be ferried to his home village in Mwanga District, Kilimanjaro Region, today, ahead of the burial scheduled for tomorrow afternoon.

Geoffrey was the third among Msuya’s six children. He was born in September 1963 and received his primary education at Bunge and Forodhani primary schools in Dar es Salaam before joining Makumira High School.

He trained in accountancy at the Dar es Salaam School of Accountancy and later joined the Institute of Finance Management (IFM) for further studies. He leaves behind a wife and two children.
