Life for Hassan Ahmad Wamba has become miserable as he cannot raise 70,000/- that is required for her daughter to undergo a head operation.

The daughter, N’gae Hassan Wamba was operated on for the first time in March last year, but the problem has not been solved. She is two and half years old.

“She was operated on at CCBRT Hospital in Dar es Salaam at the cost of 60,000/-. But doctors said she has to undergo another operation that would cost 70,000/- but I don’t have the money,’’ he told The Guardian yesterday.

Wamba, a father of four children, is a peasant residing in Ifakara, Morogoro Region. For three weeks now he has been in Dar es Salaam trying to raise the money but with little success.

’’I am staying with a friend at Kiwalani. They are a poor family and it is becoming increasingly difficult to buy food and other requirements, ’’ he said.

Ng’ae, according to Wamba, was born as a normal child but her head became bigger as she grew up.

’’Now the head has become abnormally big. She has difficulty in breathing and she can’t eat and talk properly,’’ he said.
