NSC, TASA meet on Friday

The National Sports Council (NSC) will on Friday meet with stakeholders of swimming to discuss various matters including expected elections for office bearers of the Tanzania Amateur Swimming Association (TASA).

NSC offficial Mohamed Kiganja said in Dar es Salaam yesterday that the stakeholders were informed on the meeting which he said was important ’’considering that TASA was the only member association remaining without holding its general election.’’

Meanwhile, Kiganja said that some aspirants had started to collect nomination forms for the TASA general elections.

He named them as Deo Vincent and Venance Kishata (contesting the post of chairman), Deo Madaha, Lucas Kubaja (vice chairman), Mariam Mbapila, Noel Kihunsi and Luis Sendeu (secretary-general).

Aspirants who collected application forms to contest for assistant secretary-general are Karuvya Baruti, Simon Makere and Ramadhani Namkoveka, while the post of treasurer has only one contestant, Rose Rugaluza.

Contestants for membership of executive committee are Specioza Mwankina, Louis Sendeu and Geofrey Kimimba.

Forms are still available for 2,000/-, with the date of holding the polls to be known after the Friday meeting. TASA is currenlty under an interim leadership.
