Eleven players have reported in the residential camp of the under-20 national soccer team, Ngorongoro Heroes, at the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) hostels.

The team is preparing for the CECAFA Youth Championship (Karume Cup) which starts on August 13 in Zanzibar.

The assistant coach of the team, Marsh Sylvester, named the players who had reported at the camp until yesterday afternoon as Ahmad Haidar, Alfred John, Nurdin Mohamed, Himir Tare, Ahmad Darus and Abdillah Seng’ondo.

Others are Mrisho Ngassa, Alfred John, Bilal Nassoro, Juma Jabu and Lusangi Issa Meloo.

Sylvester said that seven other players who were missing had asked for permission to report later.

Those not in the camp without permission are Abdulrahman Paul, Jumanne Ramadhani, Julius Mrope, Nizar Halfan, Jacob Masawe, Meshack David Nyambele, Aziz Raja and Rajab Hamisi.

Other countries expected to compete in the tournament are Somalia, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Uganda, Djibouti, Sudan, Eritrea, Burundi, Kenya and hosts Zanzibar.
