200 seek parliamentary seats through CHADEMA

Chama cha Demokrasia na Maendeleo (CHADEMA) has said the number of its contestants for parliamentary seats is now close to 200, which is the largest number it has ever fielded in an election since the party was formed 13 years ago.
CHADEMA Deputy Secretary General, Shaibu Akwilombe told The Guardian in the city on Monday that they were only short of 35 people to fill the remaining constituencies.
He added that negotiations with other potential candidates are still going on.
He said this year his party is well prepared and equipped and targets to win in at least 50 constituencies.
Akwilombe mentioned the candidates who are going to stand and their constituency in brackets as Philemon Ndesamburo (Moshi-Town), Clement Kwayu (Hai), Makidara Mosi (Siha), Antony Komu (Moshi-Rural) and Professor Mosha (Vunjo).
Others are Patrick Ami (Babati-Town), Dr Wilbroad Slaa (Karatu), Mustapha Akonaay (Mbulu), Victor Kimesera (Kiteto) David Ndoipo (Longido) and Miontiko Ako (Hanang).
He mentioned others as Dr Aman Kabourou (Kigoma Urban), Zitto Kabwe (Kigoma North), Slyvester Masinde (Ukerewe), Bob Makani (Shinyanga Urban), Dr Michael Mgata (Kilolo), Edson Mbogoro (Songea Urban), Ally Chitanda (Nachingwea), Alatanga Nyagawa (Njombe North), Ntidhicha Yavery (Muhambwe), Chacha Wangwe (Tarime) and Elias Mtereka (Nyangwale.
